Soiree samplers

I thought I’d share how I assembled some very simple and healthy foods and kicked them up a notch to create a lovely atmosphere of – well, good tidings and joy.

I mean, doesn’t this make you want to savour a few bites while enjoying a glass of wine and some soft, jazzy Christmas tunes?

I pulled out some favourite Mason jars and packed ’em full of yummy goodness.

Homemade guacamole, cauliflower tabbouleh (made the night before – see here),  a store-bought (yes, everything doesn’t have to be made at home!) sprouted bean salad from Nature’s Fare Market.

Add some peppery goat’s cheese, whip up a fresh tomato salsa, and toss in another beany tantalizer – this one is a Moroccan-inspired mouth-fest from Nature’s Fare.

Some incredibly delicious and carrot/cumin raw crackers (teeming with good-for-you enzymes…but you’d never know it as you will be lost in the flavour…) add another dimension – crunch and spice! These are expensive, but worth the buy for special occasions. If you have a dehydrator, you can make these yourself for a fraction of the price.

And crunchy organic vegetables (rainbow carrots and kholrabi in a planter).

Light the candles, start up the Christmas crooners, and you have created a peaceful setting to share wine and nibblies with special friends.

Happy holiday entertaining!
